1. Rachel Maddow is my hero.
2. Rick Santorum is a revolting human being.
3. As a Dutch person, I am appalled that someone would insinuate these things are happening in my country. Frankly, most people support euthanasia. Besides, there are very strict laws surrounding euthanasia and there is NO WAY anyone can be euthanized against their will. And for the record, euthanasia is not specifically for the elderly, it’s for terminally ill patients, to ease their suffering.
4. The total number of people euthanized in the Netherlands actually varies around 2%, and that percentage includes not only the elderly, but all terminally ill patients of all ages whose suffering is unbearably and hopeless.
5. No one gets euthanized against his or her will.
7. “Do Not Euthanize Me”-bracelets do not exist.

Lolz. Did you notice there is no #6? <v< Also, I actually agree with mr. Mountain?!… It’s a good thing they had his name with the correct spelling on screen or people back here might have thought they even translated his name. <v< Anyway as a dutch person I feel both amused and appalled at this. His accusations are hilarious. We are massacring our elderly and not just anywhere but in hospitals! The very place you go when you want to get better!! T-T I feel insulted!!! Also if that guy were right there wouldn’t be any elderly going to the hospital for no reason anymore. This would greatly reduce the strain on government funding for care for the elderly leading to there being no need for budget cuts. However no matter how liberal our government gets I would like to believe that killing people for money is not on the party agenda’s. Well maybe on the PVV’s… If you were to call money a religion……… Either way. Get me one of those bracelets!!!!
My grandma went to the hospital every week because she had poor health and was treated perfectly normally. She eventually died of natural causes in an elderly home. And she never wore any kind of a euthanasia bracelet. She didn’t even wear any jewelery at all XD What the heck is this stuff?
This is what you might call. Campaign madness?.. the horror that is American presidential candidates and their race to become the most popular of them all. He’s just Gotta catch ‘em all. <v<
Whoopsie… My sixth comment went missing somewhere… >.> Anyways, here goes…
6. Santorum’s campaign doesn’t even bother to defend his comments. Now why would that be? I really, really, really don’t get it. Why would someone say such things, and get away with it?
The worst thing is, he seems like a serious candidate for opposing Obama in the upcoming elections…
I think that says more about the position Obama is in than Santorum being a candidate. He’s had to take a lot of unpopular but necessary changes and now no one likes him anymore. It’s sort of like how the Greeks don’t like the EU anymore even though we are saving their asses. The average American doesn’t vote from a well informed and politically motivated point of view nor do they care about the welfare of their country. They are just trying to get the most benefit out of whatever choice they make not realising that voting for plans that are beneficial to the country’s economical health will in the long run safe their jobs and houses whereas a quick fix will only lead to greater trouble. Putting people like Rick Santorum and before him George W. Bush in power will only accelerate their descend.
Amen. I have nothing more to add.

I’m sorry what. I can’t hear you over bin Laden’s dead body, the end of the Iraq War, the decrease of the unemployment rate, health care reform, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, his support of the LGBT community in general, and his natural badassness.

Interviewer: You’ve long argued for the decriminalization of marijuana. Do you smoke weed?
Barney Frank: No.
Interviewer: Why not?
Barney Frank: Why do you ask a question, then act surprised when I give an answer? Do you think I lie to people?
Interviewer: I thought you might explain why you support decriminalizing it but don’t smoke it.
Barney Frank: Do you think I’ve ever had an abortion?
[The Most Badass Excerpt From Barney Frank’s Interview With The NY Times]

Rachel Maddow schools Mitt Romney in her man cave on how babies are made and how birth control prevents that because clearly he missed health class thirty years ago, or he’s too busy with the pursuit of his ego to to think about something that affects 51% of the people he “wants” to represent
This is beautiful.
I just need to say that I love her.
Really. I love her. Like… my inner lesbian got wood from this.
